Sir Edward Youde Memorial Scholarship Awards 2023 – 2024

The scheme offers prizes to encourage senior secondary students in attaining a high standard of learning abilities and developing leadership qualities.

The value of each prize for the 2023/24 academic year is HK$1000.

 

 6A 38 TAYYIBAH ANZAL 6B 4 ASLAM MEHTAB

Tayyibah has remarkable academic performance and potential. She achieved 3rd in S5 with the best performance in Advanced Chinese as a Second Language (ACSL) and Chemistry. She attained a grade 9 in GCSE Chinese. She is calm and composed, exhibiting discipline, good manners, and sociability. She has empathy towards others. She has exceptional leadership and communication skills, efficient time management, strong problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in public speaking. She held leadership roles in the Perfect Club, Social Welfare Association, and Volunteer Team. She engaged in a science engagement program organized by the CUHK. She received the second prize in the Inter-School Math Competition (S5). She served as a Committee Member of the Students’ Welfare Association (Broadway). She got first placed in the 50th Anniversary Chinese Writing Competition (ACSL – Senior) in 2022. Tayyibah also received a Certificate of Merit in the 74th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival in 2022.

Mehtab consistently ranks in the top 10 of their class since secondary 2. She achieved first place in form 5, excelling in biology and English. Mehtab represented the school in inter-school mathematics and project work competitions, securing second place. She possesses strong leadership and communication skills. As a perfectionist and a highly competitive person, she always strives for excellence. As a minority, Mehtab developed empathy for fellow minorities and has a strong sense of social justice. She engaged in various meaningful services. She has organized mental health activities funded by Kids4kids, participated in a healthcare workshop by Health in Action, and organized a Breast Cancer talk for EM women.
