S2 OLE – Hong Kong Heritage Museum visit

On the afternoon of April 22nd 2024, whole form of S2 students filled with anticipation and longing to learn more about Hong Kong’s outstanding local culture, visited the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

Outside the museum, the students could hardly contain their excitement as they took photos in front of the Bruce Lee sculpture in a kicking pose. Subsequently, the children lined up in an orderly fashion and quietly entered the Jin Yong Gallery located underground. Watching the creative process and contributions of Dr Louis Cha (Jin Yong) to the wuxia (martial arts fantasy) novel genre, and marvelling at the chivalrous world depicted on the screen, the students couldn’t help but quietly express their admiration, pausing to appreciate the over 300 exhibits showcased.

Next, the students visited the exhibition of Anita Mui. The girls listened to Anita Mui’s mellifluous music, admired her glamorous performance costumes, and couldn’t resist taking photos in front of each outfit. The students were captivated by the screen, intently appreciating Anita Mui’s classic film and television works. Even the teachers couldn’t resist taking a commemorative photo of this timeless moment.

Lastly, the students went to the second floor to visit the Bruce Lee exhibition. Some students had already heard of Bruce Lee’s extraordinary martial arts skills, and were further amazed after viewing the exhibition. This trip to the Hong Kong Heritage Museum was truly rewarding for the S2 students. Throughout the visit, the students deeply felt the contribution of these three legendary Hong Kong figures to the city’s culture. Their achievements were not limited to the local context but were renowned globally. This trip allowed the students to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of these iconic Hong Kong cultural symbols, adding a profound touch to the integration of multi-ethnic and Chinese culture in our school.
