1. When we ask, “Where is the Tuck Shop?”  “Where” is the first word in the sentence while “tuck shop” is at the end. 

2. But in Chinese, the position of the two words are exchanged with each other. That means “where” 「哪裡」 (nɑ̌ li) is put at the end while “tuck shop” 「小食部」(xiɑ̌o shí bù)  is put at the beginning of the sentence.

3. The sentence pattern of “There” 「那裡」(nɑ̀ lǐ)  is just the same as “Where”. [哪兒 （nɑ̌r） also can be used instead of 哪裡] .
