When we talk about someone’s abilities, we will use the word “néng” (能) to express one can do something. On the contrary, we use the word “bù néng” (不能) to express one cannot do something in one’s ability.
The question form: When we ask the questions about abilities, we will use the words “néng” (能) and“bù néng”(不能) to form the question.
Question pattern: Subject +“néng” (能) + verb +“mɑ”(嗎)? Or Subject +“néng bù néng” (能不能) + verb?
