When you want to talk about something you do with others together, we will use the word 一起 “jat1 hei2 (jat1 cai4)”。It means “together” in English. The sentence pattern in 
Chinese and English are different. In English, we will put the word “together” after
 the verb. However, we will put the word 一起 “jat1 hei2 (jat1 cai4)” before the 
verb in Chinese. Besides, we put the adverb of time at the end of the sentence in English, but at the beginning in the Chinese sentence.

Example: 昨天，我們一起吃午飯。 zok3 tin1(kam4 jat6), ngo5 mun4 jat1 hei2 hek3 m5 faan6. We had lunch together yesterday.
