1. When you want to talk about dark colours, you can use the word 深(sam1). For example, dark blue is 深藍色(sam1 laam4 sik1). |

2. When you want to talk about light colours, you can use the word 淺(“cin2”). For example, light blue is 淺藍色(cin2 laam4 sik1). |
3. When you want to express something with colour, you have to use the word 的 in Chinese. For example, a red car is 一架紅色的車(jat1 gaa3 hung4 sik1 dik1(ge3) ce1). The word 的 “dik1” must be put between the colour and the noun to form a grammatically correct noun phrase. |
