There are something that we better to do and we better not do. When we want to express this idea, we can use the sentence pattern  不要……， 要 ……  in Chinese. It is the same as the meaning of “not to do something and have to do something” in English.

For example: 我們不要在港鐵站集合，要在酒店門口集合。

ngo5 mun4 bat1 jiu3 zoi6 gong2 tit3 zaam6 zap6 hap6, jiu3 zoi6 zau2 dim3 mun4 hau2 zap6 hap6.

           Don’t meet at the MTR station. We have to meet at the entrance of the hotel.

Besides, the position of  不要 and  要  can be exchanged. That means the sentence pattern can appear like  要……， 不要…….

For example: 我們要在酒店門口集合，不要在港鐵站集合。

ngo5 mun4 jiu3 zoi6 zau2 dim3 mun4 hau2 zap6 hap6, bat1 jiu3 zoi6 gong2 tit3 zaam6 zap6
hap6.

           We have to meet at the entrance of the hotel, but not the MTR station.

Moreover, you have to remember that the subject will be put at the beginning of the sentence when making Chinese sentences.
