It’s Teachers’ Day on 10 September every year. This date is aligned with the International Teachers’ Day, which is observed in various parts of the world. The day is dedicated to recognizing and appreciating the contributions of teachers to education and society.
The Teachers’ Day this year provided an opportunity for students to express gratitude to teachers for their dedication and hard work. This also couples with the education of the value of ‘Respecting Others’. A ‘Respect and Appreciate Campaign’ was launched.
Students were given a post-it note paper each to write a heart-felt message to express their gratitude and appreciation to particular teachers or teachers in general.
All these note papers were put onto a foam board each class. Finally, twenty-four foam boards of appreciation messages are put onto a wall in school hall for students’ browsing. It is expected that the action of expressing respect and appreciation lingers on.
