$1 = “一元” (yī yuɑ́n) or “一塊” (yī kuɑ̀i); 20 cents = “兩角” (liɑ̌ng jiɑ̌o) instead of “二十分” (èr shí fēn). The Putonghua for $1.5 is “一元五角” (yī yuɑ́n wǔ jiɑ̌o) or (yī kuɑ̀i wǔ mɑ́o ). *Note that if there is more than one currency term involved in a price, the last one can be omitted.
